Wolf Creek star’s next thriller

He wreaked havoc playing a blood-curdling murderer in Wolf Creek and recently wrapped another thriller in which he plays a psycho killer. Now Aussie actor and producer John Jarratt is plotting his next thriller and looking for backyard actors to star.
Jarratt will soon begin filming Crossing The Line in and around Brisbane and the Gold Coast, with a local cast to keep many in the Australian industry in employment.
The latest in his signature suspense films, Jarratt has made the unconventional choice of two of Aussie TV’s sweethearts in decidedly dark leading roles.
Former McLeod’s Daughters co-stars Brett Tucker and Bridie Carter will reunite with Jarratt, who guest starred in the series, to star opposite each other in the film.
Tucker will play a sinister character intent on having his enemies, played by Jarratt and Carter, murder each other.
“It will be very dark and shadowy – it will be terrific,” Jarratt cackled.
His most recent film Savages Crossing, starring Craig McLachlan and Sacha Horler, was also shot in Queensland, although plagued by wet weather.
“It rained a lot of the time. Most of the time actually,” Jarratt told Confidential. “So the actors and the crew spent the majority of the shoot soaking wet, which was tough but there was a real positive energy to get the thing finished and we got through it.”
Jarratt has created his own luck on the big screen, after being overlooked by Quentin Tarantino for a part he promised him in one of his movies.
