Bridie Carter was born on December 18th in Melbourne, Australia and is the oldest of three children - she has two younger brothers.
Bridie grew up in Melbourne where her mother was a gallery director and has a real passion for the arts. Much like her character Tess in McLeod's Daughters, Bridie is generous and helpful. She is an advocate for people in need, and often lends her spare time to charity organisations.
Bridie has been nominated for the TV Week Logie Awards many times. In 2003 she was nominated for a Silver Logie For Most Popular Actress, this award is voted for by the public. In 2004 she was nominated for the Silver Logie for Most Outstanding Actress which is awarded from within the industry as well as scoring another nomination for Most Popular Actress. In 2006 Bridie was nominated for the most important award of the TV Week Logies the Gold, but unfortunatly lost to John Wood.
In early May of 2004 Bridie married Michael Wilson. Their wedding was covered by Australian magazine Woman's Day and appeared in the May 17th issue. The couple reside in Byron Bay, Sydney. Since her wedding Bridie has had one child Otis born in March 2005
